Came here for dinner with my husband and was blown away by the atmosphere, attentive service and actually mind blowing food. It is a pub, but the food is Michelin level. The best pasta we have ever had! We sat by the fire and felt like kings in our satiation.

Very welcoming staff and an amazing view of the mountains. Staff were more than happy to have a conversation and recommend some good walks in the area. We had some cheap drinks and desert here before staying overnight in our campervan. Strongly recommend the biscoff tiramisu! The showers take 2x $2 coins to operate but the toilets are clean.

Warm and cosy atmosphere. Excellent camp ground, super friendly and welcoming hosts, good food, beautiful garden and surroundings, we couldn't ask for more. We got stranded here during the flooding in July 2026 and it's probably one of the best places to get stuck, we feel like we got very lucky.

We have just had the most amazing meal ever. Chicken pieces with a chilli sauce, fries and salad. The portions are huge and in today’s world of uncertainty and rising cost the meals are truely value for money and beyond expectations. The service is friendly and welcoming. The family pub is warm and cosy with a roaring fire on a wet winters evening, it has a real Irish friendly atmosphere. We would not hesitate in returning next time we are in the South Island to soak up the truely Southern hospitality.
